Review: The Only Gold
by Sylvia A. Winters
I have just finished reading The Only Gold by Tamara Allen. I got this e-book for nothing as an offer on Friday the 13th, and I am so grateful for that offer because this has quickly become a book I love.
I never really thought I’d be reading a book about bankers, and actually liking those bankers, but this has been well worth the venture.
This book surpassed all my expectations, despite only having heard excellent things. I hadn’t expected the sheer excitement and build-up of it, but it delivered all I wanted and more. I could not put this book down and have read well into the night, until my eyes feel like they could quite possibly drop out of my head.
The characterisation was wonderful … I’d go so far as to say flawless. I loved every single character except those I was meant to dislike intensely. The leads were brilliant, flawed in the best, most endearing (and exasperating) ways, clashing drastically and fitting together perfectly.
If only my local bank were half as fascinating and dedicated as Grandborough National Bank.
